Senior Travellers
Age should prove no barrier to enjoying a holiday in Turkey, a country where elderly people are held in great respect. Some museums and other attractions offer discounted admission to people over 60.
Personal Safety and Security
Although Turkey is one of Europe's safest countries, you must still take precautions. Wearing a money belt under your clothing when shopping in crowded places such as markets or bazaars is wise. All Nicholas Hotels provide safe deposit facilities for valuables and rental properties are often fitted with safes for your use.
Turkey remains safe for individuals however teenage girls and women need to be aware that Turkish boys or men find English women far more approachable than their Turkish counterparts. Customs in Turkey do not traditionally allow women to be unaccompanied in bars or restaurants and do not allow the fraternisation of the sexes.
Health and Emergency
The area of Oludeniz (Hisaronu, Calis, Fethiye and Oludeniz) has grown to be a leading tourist centre for western Turkey. As a result it is never difficult to find English speaking doctors, pharmacists and dentists within five minutes of where you are stying. All our Hotels have contact with local Doctors and will be more than happy to help in any emergency.
It is wise to ensure you have adequate medical insurance as Turkey is not covered by the EEC's E111 scheme. Hospitals in the area are well equipped to deal with any medical emergency. If you are taking any medication then it is wise to bring a packet describing what the medication is and it's active ingredients as most pharmacies will be able to provide you with more should you require it.
